Week One: Whoop Whoop!!!

Well friends, I AM A MISSIONARY!!! And it is finally P-day which honestly feels the same here in the MTC as Christmas day at home (not to be dramatic or anything but its true). This week has seriously been a whirlwind. So much has changed and it was honestly a little overwhelming, but it has been one of the best weeks of my whole entire life.

Something about the MTC is that it feels like one, big EFY like all the time, except it's a little bit more intense because the salvation of people's souls depends on me learning how to be a missionary, but no pressure or anything like that.

So my first day of the MTC I got to meet my companion. Her name is Sister Harmon and she's from Salem, Oregon. We get a long really good and I like to think that we teach together pretty well too. The other girls in my district are Sister Bergman, Sister Farren, Sister Kimball, and Sister Butler. We are all seriously best friends and it feels so fun to have sisters in the district that are fun to hang out with. Its great because we can all be super spiritual and serious in class but super goofy together when we're not in class. The Elders are also super nice and way funny which is really great. Its such a blast. I also have ran into so many friends here, it's been so fun! it feels like being home.

Some funny stories that happened this week: So Sunday night my roommates and were being obedient and went to bed on time at 10:30. That night though in what felt like the dead of night the fire alarm in my building GOES OFF!! We wake up, and it totally smells like a skunk or something and we all grab our shoes and our keys and go outside to wait until its all good to go in again and the security guard at the MTC yells to give us all the info about 10 minutes after we got out, and tells us that someone pulled the fire alarm because it smelled like a gas leak...and it was just the neighborhood skunk that has been tormenting the MTC for a few weeks now. So, its safe to say we were all a little grumpy that we had to wake up in the middle of the night (even though it was only 11:30 lol). But its definitely a funny memory!

I just want to add a Spiritual thought as well. Everyone, go read Alma 44:4! It is one of my favorite scriptures that we have read in class and it just shows that God knows you and is aware of you. He's always there to support you if you only just reach out to Him. How cool is that?

Anyways, sorry this email is kind of long but I love you all! I have p-day every Tuesday in the MTC and would love to hear from you!
Love,
Allie (aka Sister Crouch)
