Week 2: Last Week in the MTC

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having an amazing week and is doing good! It's been a busy and crazy week here at the MTC! We have had tons of classes and we have started teaching some people which has been an incredible experience! Life here is intense and sometimes it feels like a spiritual fire-hose is aimed at your face, but in a really good way!

Sister Harmon and I have been able to teach 3 people since last Monday. The MTC hires nonmembers and members to come and be taught by the missionaries that are being trained here, and since I'm an English speaking missionary, I got to teach someone on day 4! Since then, we've been teaching a total of three people everyday except for Sundays and our P-day. Its really so cool to be teaching someone the gospel and feel the Spirit fill your mouth when you aren't quite sure what to say. And then when it clicks for them or the Spirit teaches them, ITS THE BEST THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!! Honestly, coming out of lessons are the happiest I feel while I'm in the MTC.

P-days are so amazing because we all get to wear jeans for a few hours, go to the temple and just study and relax. It's kind of funny how my version of relaxing is studying my scriptures for a few hours, but it is honestly the best feeling ever. We went to the temple with most of our district last p-day and did a session which was so much fun, and we're doing a session with our whole district later today which will be so amazing! It really is one of the best things about p-day, that and talking to my family (these changes are really awesome, just FYI).

I got my travel plans for next week! Next Tuesday i leave the MTC to fly to Baton Rouge! I feel extremely blessed because my check out time to head over to the airport is 6:45 in the morning and I know an elder in my district who has a check out time of 3:45! Lets just say that I think the Lord was looking out for me! I am so excited to head out to the field, and I'm trying to mentally prepare myself and get ready for the 65% humidity that will hit me the second I step off that plane in Louisiana.

Being here in the MTC made me realize how much I have to work on. Its kind of crazy how the Lord will show you your weaknesses and its really crazy how humble you have to be to be willing to have Him help you turn them into a strength. Its been really awesome to see the Lord work, honestly, miracles for me. I just know that there's seriously no way I could be a missionary or teach like a missionary if it wasn't for the Lord, and that has been a really amazing lesson to learn my second week in.

I've been studying in Alma since I got to the MTC and I just wanted to share my all-time favorite scripture about the Savior, Jesus Christ, in the Book of Mormon. Its in Alma 7 verses 11-13. It talks all about how Christ suffered all our infirmities so that way He could know exactly how to succor His people. What an incredible thing to know, that Christ suffered all our sorrows and all our afflictions and took upon Him all our sins so that way we, through Him, can be healed of everything through His Atonement. I've been teaching the Atonement a lot lately and I just think its amazing that Christ knows the troubles of your heart perfectly and He also knows exacltly how to help you.

Anyways, I love you all and I love the gospel! Sorry this email is kind of long. I'd love to hear from you guys and I hope everyone has an amazing week
